Forklift. A forklift is one of the most common machines found in a modern factory. A forklift is a small truck, equipped with a lifting machine on the front. The lifting machine consists of a hydraulically operated mast that supports a pair of metal forks, which can be used to lift pallettes or special racks. Forklifts are balanced with a massive weight in the rear, so they do not tip over forwards when they pick up a heavy load. Most forklifts used in factories today use propane as fuel, although some small forklifts are powered by electricity. Many factories are not equipped with indoor cranes, so forklifts are ususally the primary means of handling materials.
