Gorilla GG-20. The Gorilla GG-20 is a small transistorized amplifier for musical instruments. Although it has transistorized circuitry, it can simulate the sound of a 1950's-style 'tube amp', with a built-in effect called 'tube stack' The tube stack effect simulates the sound of distortion created by old amplifiers with tube-based circuitry. Transistorized amplifiers naturally cannot produce the 'overdrive' sound produced by amplifiers with tube-based circuitry, so this amplifier adds it artificially.

Guitar. The musical instrument that is best known as the 'guitar' is usually the Spanish guitar, or instruments similar to it. In America, most musicians call it the 'acoustic guitar'. Electric guitars (electronically amplified guitars) are also in this category. The word 'guitar' is used to describe so-called 'acoustic electrics' (electric guitars that simulate the sound of an acoustic guitar) and virtually any guitar-like instrument, including guitar-like MIDI controllers, or 'MIDI guitars'. A guitar is bacially a wooden box with a fretboard or 'neck' extending from it, with six strings on it. Some guitars have 12 strings. A bass guitar has 4 strings which are tuned to a much lower pitch than the strings on a regular guitar. Some bass guitars have been made with 5 strings. The guitar is the instrument that is most commonly used in rock music. Nearly all recordings of rock and roll music feature at least one guitar. Most rock bands are four-piece bands, consisting of three guitar players and a drummer.
